School and Community Workshops
Create offers workshops for schools in the Performing Arts and also Music Technology and Songwriting. These workshops can be tailored to suit your school's requirements and can run over half a day or regularly throughout a term depending on your schools needs.
Our Performing Arts workshops include harmony singing group work, drama games and team building exercises and are designed to introduce students to drama and singing in a FUN and relaxed way.
In our songwriting and music technology workshops, students have the opportunity to form 'bands' and write a song from scratch (lyrics, melody etc) and then record their groups song using live instruments, music technology software or a combination of the two. The ability to play an instrument is not necessary, all that is needed is enthusiasm and a sense of adventure! At the end of the Workshop, each student receives a CD of their song.
Create also runs Singing Community Workshops. Groups of any size can learn more about singing, voice and harmony. The groups then get the opportunity to perform their songs together at the end of the Workshop.
Create has recently been working with NESTA's idiscover education programme, running Create Inspire Projects which aims to help young people develop the skills and attributes they will need in an innovation-driven society.
